Special note concerning privacy and the use of telehealth technology.

 

As a licensed professional I am ethically bound to the licensure boards which I am accredited. With the exception of special circumstance which mandate reporting, or a court order officiating statutory duty, our session discussions are strictly confidential. Please refer to Lumen Creative Therapy Services treatment agreement and consent for more information about confidentiality. The HIPPA guidelines for telehealth and healthcare services rendered during the COVID-19 pandemic are informed by The Office for Civil Rights (OCR) and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Additionally, The North Carolina Social Work Board General Statute 90B-3(6) states the following:

“Clinical Social Work Practice. – The professional application of social work theory and methods to the biopsychosocial diagnosis, treatment, or prevention, of emotional and mental disorders. Practice includes, by whatever means of communications, the treatment of individuals, couples, families, and groups, including the use of psychotherapy and referrals to and collaboration with other health professionals when appropriate. Clinical social work practice shall not include the provision of supportive daily living services to persons with severe and persistent mental illness as defined in G.S. 122C‑3(33a).”
